Sliders are a very intense and effective form of stability training.

With the sliders you are changing the amount of friction between you and the ground. When the slider is under you, your muscles have to tense in order to keep it still- forcing them to contract the whole time.

Which is why this can be such a challenging workout- you never really get a rest!

Adding sliders to Pilates moves can work your muscles in new ways.

Plus many reformer exercises can be mimicked - the sliding motion can imitate that rail like feeling.
